Urine Microalbumin – Spot Sample

The Urine Microalbumin test is a diagnostic examination used to quantify the amount of albumin, a protein, excreted in a spot urine sample. It serves as a sensitive marker for detecting early signs of kidney damage, particularly in individuals with diabetes mellitus or hypertension, who are at increased risk of developing kidney disease. Microalbuminuria refers to the presence of small amounts of albumin in the urine that are not detectable by standard urine dipstick tests but can be detected using specialized laboratory methods.
