Glycosylated Haemoglobin (HbA1c)

Glycosylated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) is a crucial test used to monitor and manage diabetes mellitus. Unlike fasting blood glucose tests, which measure blood sugar levels at a single point in time, HbA1c reflects average blood sugar levels over the preceding 2-3 months. It does so by assessing the amount of glucose that has become attached to hemoglobin molecules in red blood cells.
